A renowned brand manufacturer committed to ensuring workplace safety required to strengthen the safety precautions to provide safe working environment to its workers, preventing to electrical fire hazard and minimize the risk of damage to its equipment at one of their plants.

Project Objective:

The key objective of the project was to significantly improve the electrical safety at the plant through the installation of Earth Leakage Relays (ELRs) and Core Balance Current Transformers (CBCTs). These systems are crucial for detecting and preventing electrical hazards such as leakages, shocks, and potential fire incidents, thus objective was to deploy a solution that would enhance protection for both personnel and infrastructure

Challenges:

The challenges were to ensure compatibility of ELR with CBCT and installed electrical system, choosing the correct sensitivity setting for the ELR, and compliance with relevant standards of the selected devices. During the installation of ELRs working with high voltage systems, limited & confined spaces, proper routing of cables through the CBCTs were also major concerns. The integration of ELRs and CBCTs with the plant’s existing electrical systems without causing disruptions was also very important.
