Introduction:
An SLC 500 Analog I/O Module is the Allen-Bradley 1746-NI4. This analog I/O module provides four non-isolated differential input channels that may be selected for voltage or current. This module fits into one slot on the SLC 500 chassis and is compatible with hardware that is fixed or modular in design.
SLC 500 Four (4) Channel Analog Input Module, Allen Bradley 1746-NI4. It supports several monitoring and control applications with user-selectable analog channels for voltage or current; it has a 16-bit resolution and comes with a detachable terminal block that has connectors for the analog input channel. It is possible to link this channel as a differential input. This module’s backplane current is 25 mA at 5 volts and 85 mA at 24 volts. Avoid connecting a voltage source without a transmitter current, for example, to a channel that is set up for current input. It’s possible for modules to operate incorrectly or sustain damage.
Standard Cable Lengths for the 1746-NI4 are 0.5, 1, 2.5, and 5.0 meters. This module’s AIFM Connector is a 15-pin D-shell. The normal and maximum input ranges for the Allen Bradley 1746-NI4’s current loop are +/-20 mA and +/-30 mA, respectively. The input impedance is 250 Ohms, with 1.22070 & A per LSB resolution and a gain error drift that is around +/-67 ppm/degrees Celsius. At 25 degrees Celsius, the overall accuracy is +/- 0.365% of full scale, while at 60 degrees Celsius, it is +/- 0.642% of full scale.
The total accuracy drift of full scale is +79 ppm/degree Celsius. The input voltage range of the 1746-NI4 is +/-10 Volts DC -1 LSB. One mega ohm is its impedance. The accuracy drift of full scale is +63 ppm/C. Gain error drift is +/- 57 ppm/degree Celsius, with a Resolution of 305.176 & V per LSB. At 25 degrees Celsius, the overall accuracy is +/-0.284% of full scale, while at 60 degrees Celsius, it is +/-0.504%.
