Brand:  FESTO

Model:  FTC968 DC

Type:     Nivector Actively Switch

Introduction:

The Nivector’s face analyses the various dielectric properties of air and bulk materials while serving as a sensor for the surrounding environment. The electronics alter the switching state if the bulk solids come into touch with the face.

To ensure quiescent current functioning across all applications, set the Nivector to either a min. or max. fail-safe mode. An LED displays the switching status information. A screened electrode shields the sensor from material buildup and interference from the vessel wall.

Depending on the chosen fail-safe option and the current level, the Nivector actively switches and signals in the following situations: reaching the point level, experiencing a fault, or encountering a power failure (where the electrical switch is locked).

For minimum or maximum detection in silos holding free-flowing, powdery, or fine-grained bulk materials (maximum particle size 10 mm or 0,39 in), the Nivector is a very small point-level switch.

Its design and materials make the Nivector especially well-suited for installation in confined spaces and for use with food.

Zone 20 is a dangerous location for dust explosions where the Nivector FTC968Z can be employed.

Common uses include animal feed, plastic granules, detergent, grain, sugar, spices, and semolina.

You can put the device into operation quickly and affordably without calibration. Without mechanical moving components, it has a long service life and a high level of immunity to electromagnetic interference and voltage peaks.

  • Simple control for changing status that is visible from outside the vessel
  • “Protector”-protected point level switch with functional testable

Fail-safe mode Minimum/ maximum quiescent current, switchable
MIN = Minimum safety: The output switches in a safety-oriented manner when the probe is cleared.
(Signal on alarm). Used for example for dry-running protection
MAX = Maximum safety: The output switches in a safety-oriented manner when the sensor is covered.
(Signal on alarm). Used for example for overflow protection
Switching time approx. 0.2 s after covering or clearing
