General operating conditions:
Pressure Media
Festo JMFH-5-1/8 8820 pressure medium for operating pneumatic components. As a pressure medium for operating pneumatic components from Festo, compressed air, nitrogen in a gaseous state, and noble gases in a gaseous form can be utilized. When preparing the pressure media, please keep the following in mind.
N (nitrogen):
The composition of ambient air is approximately 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen. Under normal conditions, nitrogen is an inert gas that does not react.
If the following requirements are satisfied, our goods can be used with pure nitrogen (100%) as the pressure medium without affecting their service life.
- The nitrogen utilized must be in the form of a gas. The operating pressure, temperatures, and quality (particles, humidity, and oil content) must all meet the compressed air specifications.
Other gases will produce inaccurate findings, according to the datasheet.
Helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), and xenon (Xe) are examples of noble gases.
Helium, as the lightest of the noble gases, has a strong ability to permeate polymers and elastomers, which might result in gas losses while running pneumatic components.
JMFH-5-1/8 8820 FESTO can be used with noble gases as the pressure medium without affecting their service life.
- The noble gases employed must be gaseous in nature.
- The operating pressure, operating temperatures, and quality (particles, humidity, and oil content) must all meet the compressed air specifications.
Carbon Dioxide CO2:
CO2 is a colorless, non-fuel gas that rapidly dissolves in water to generate carbonic acid. The carbon dioxide must be in a gaseous condition, and the working pressure, temperatures, and quality (particles, humidity, and oil content) must meet the parameters stated for compressed air in the specification.
Operating conditions for drives
ISO 15552 (corresponds to the discontinued standards ISO 6431, DIN ISO 6431, VDMA 24562, NFE 49003.1, UNI 10290), ISO 6432, and ISO 21287 allow for a specific degree of stroke length deviation from the nominal value owing to manufacturing tolerances. These tolerances are always favorable. Refer to the table for more information on the specific allowable deviation.
