Allen-Bradley:
The Flex IO product line includes the Allen-Bradley 1794-OE4 analog output module. This module is a Distributed I/O node component that is compatible with Flex I/O communication adapters like as Ethernet, ControlNet, Profibus, and Remote I/O. This module has four (4) user-configurable output channels that may produce 0 to 20mA, 4 to 20mA, +/- 10VDC, and 0 to 10 VDC voltage signals.
Manual Control
Implement automated and manual control of modulating devices such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), modulating control valves, converters, transducers, dampers, louvers, and other Final Control Elements (FCE) using this module. This module’s output channels offer a non-isolated, single-ended setup.
Resolution:
The 1794-OE4 has a resolution of 12 bits plus sign, with voltage increments and decrements of 2.56mV/cnt and current increases and decrements of 5.13A/cnt. The analog data from the module is saved to a registered formatted as left justified, 16-bit 2’s complement. The pulse width modulation approach is used to transform this register.
Compatibility:
The Allen-Bradley 1794-OE4 is compatible with the Flex I/O communication adapters 1794-ACN15, 1794-ACNR15, 1794-AND, 1794-AENT, and 1794-AENTR. It may also be utilized with a MicroLogix small controller via connection adapters 1794-ASB and 1794-APB.
The Allen-Bradley 1794-OE4 is backwards compatible with the 1794-TB2, 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S, 1794-TB3T, 1794-TB3TS, and 1794-TBN terminal bases. To install the module, just one (1) terminal base is necessary. Terminal bases serve as DIN rail attachment points as well as termination points for output signal cabling. The necessary key switch position for the Allen-Bradley 1794-OE4 is 4.

It features a voltage or input terminal reaction time of 24 milliseconds and a bus rating of 20 mA. This module has a step reaction time of 24 milliseconds (voltage output) which is up to 63% of the full-scale setting.

It has a maximum current load of 3 mA on the voltage output and a resistive load of 15 to 750 on the output current. The maximum power dissipation of this module is 4.5W at 31.2 Volts DC, while the maximum thermal dissipation is 15.3 BTU/hour at the same voltage. It can also operate at temperatures ranging from 0 to 55 degrees Celsius.
