1794-ADN the communication module for Flex I/O:

The communication module for Flex I/O is the Allen-Bradley 1794-ADN. A Device Net connection adapter, this module is part of the 1794 Flex IO product family. To enable I/O data interchange, it links a Flex I/O rack to the central Device Net scanner. Panel or DIN rail mounting are supported. An example of a 24 VDC Device Net media adapter module is the Allen-Bradley 1794-ADN. It can support communication rates of 125 Kbps, 250 Kbps, and 500 Kbps, and it can accommodate up to 8 Flex I/O modules. It supports data transmission rates of 125KB, 250KB, and 500KB.

The 1794-ADN supports:

The 1794-ADN supports DIN rail or direct panel mounting, and it includes one (1) Device Net port that accepts an open 5- or 10-pin linear connector. It is the Flex I/O rack’s leftmost module. It contains Status Led indicators, which the operators use to keep an eye on the module’s performance and troubleshoot when something goes wrong or the gadget stops responding. The thumbwheel switches integrated inside the module define the address setting of the module. Users can use the minus (-) and plus (+) buttons to make adjustments, and baud detection determines the baud rate when the device first powers up.

1794-ADN Device Net power ratings:

The Device Net power rating of this adapter module is 24 Volts DC at 90 mA, and its power supply current load is 400 mA at 24 Volts. Its maximum Flex Bus output current is 640 mA at 5 Volts DC. Input voltage range encompasses the 5% AC ripple and is 19.2 to 31.2 VDC. Its maximum thermal dissipation at 19.2 Volts DC is 26 BTU/hour, and its maximum power dissipation is 7.6 W. It can be operated between -4 and 158 degrees Fahrenheit, and it can be stored between -40 and 185 degrees Fahrenheit. The 1794-ADN has three shock ratings: 30 g for operational shocks, 50 g for non-operating shocks, and 5 g for vibrations from 10 to 500 Hertz.
